First time Hakka chinese food.

Hello Friends,
Recently I had lunch with my co-workers at a chinese restaurant near our hospital. We've been working here for many years but never noticed this traditional restaurant.

It is in an alley where many shops are located on. This Hakka restaurant is on the third floor of a building that has the first and second floor for Thai restaurant. But it's got its own old looking stairs leading to the third floor and to a joss house on the 4th floor. In this picture you can see me behind an antique door and you might see the red joss house behind me. The surroundings made me feel like I was at somewhere which is not Thailand.

Not any one customer in there

Fried soy sauce marinated chicken.

Fried tofu with fermented rice.

Fried dry tofu curd stuffed with minced pork.

All the food was not so impressive. Maybe it's because we're not familiar with this kind of food and some ingrediants. For example, many Hakka dishes they use fermented rice to increase the smell and taste of food, but for us, it's too pungent. But it was nice experience to try new things. We didn't finish any dishes but we took all of them back to the hospital to treat some nurses who were chinese food's fan. And they loved them!

This last photo is snake-head fish cake (เค้กปลาช่อน) that a nurse bought from Singhburi. It's awesome because they put real fish meat in the cake but it doesn't make cake taste fishy at all. Instead it's very delicious.
